Digital Knowledge Exchange Works Well

E-MOTIVE 2020 by FVA

The Online Conference for Electric Mobility

More than 800 visitors, 35 speakers, plus 20 hours of packed expertise!
The virtual congress 'E-Motive by FVA' , the first of its kind, was a complete success. The online event, carried out by The German Research Association for Drive Technology (FVA), focussed on all major topics of future drive technologies.

Innovative drive technology is dependent on the exchange of knowledge transfer between scientific research and the industries. The congress 'E-Motive 2020 by FVA' is the international platform, where experts meet. From September 15 to 17, 2020 the forum of experts carried out their dialogue online for the very first time! The FVA managed to set new standards in the field of digitally focused events.

A broad range of heterogeneous participants from all around the world from 230 companies, 24 countries and 32 research institutes met here for exchange, covering the vast field of emission-free mobility. The event was greatly supported by the companies FUCHS SCHMIERSTOFFE, ESI, GTSystem and Powersys Solutions.

Dr. Tobias Böhm (Group Research/Chief Manager of Volkswagen AG) opened the event by underlining the importance of independent and interdisciplinary research, not only for machine manufacturers, but also concerning the future of mobility as such.

During the following speeches and discussions it was made clear, that added value in the production lines by means of electronic drive components would become increasingly important and would result in further growth—whenever the mobility factor would play a role. And this would not only affect cars, trucks or moving machines. The main element of drive technology components would be correlated with all modular parts (building blocks) of mobility aspects: from drive systems, to batteries, to the whole field of manufacturing technologies, to simulation setups and development, up to Power2X—these subjects being some of the main aspects speakers put a spotlight on.

Even though some uncertainty and questions arose, the event 'E-Motive 2020 by FVA' ,  seems well established and prepared for the exchange of experience in the near future.

The FVA expresses its thanks to all participants, hosts and speakers, as well as to our board of directors. Being committed to our research work and equally engaged in this event, we all made this experience a great success.

We are looking forward to new exciting topics and meeting you at next year's event at the 'E-Motive 2021 by FVA' in Wolfsburg/Germany!
